Shahab (Alireza) Emami, a graduate in Chemical Engineering, embarked on his journey in the fruit and vegetable industry alongside his father in 1993. With an entrepreneurial vision and a belief in leveraging innovative technologies, he swiftly contributed to the growth of the family business. His success in establishing and managing Emami Trading at the new location of Tehran’s wholesale fruit and vegetable market has elevated him to a prominent figure in the trade industry of these commodities in Iran.
In 1993, I seriously entered the field of my family business, which was fruit exports and imports. For the first time in the Middle East, I initiated electronic commerce in the fruit trade industry in Iran. Additionally, I was the first person to establish direct contracts with the largest global transportation companies for the shipment of my products, without resorting to forwarders. Moreover, I take pride in leading the first company in the world to directly import bananas from South America to Iran using refrigerated containers. Today, I am pursuing further innovations and am passionate about social responsibilities.
More than two decades ago, Shahab Emami was the first person in Iran to engage in branding in the fruit industry on an international scale.
Nearly a century ago, this business group was founded by my family, and it is managed and developed by me.
More than twenty years ago, the largest health charity for dialysis patients was established by us.
In 2000, coinciding with the start of my tenure, this group became one of the exclusive leaders in the agricultural products industry in the Middle East.
Since the development of international trade within the Zarrin Group and the establishment of the Zarrin e-commerce platform, it has been able to export and import a variety of agricultural products worldwide using a global transportation system.
Shahab has been enthusiastically active in attending international fruits events and congresses around the world following their invitations like Fruit Logistica in Messe Berlin, Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong, Eurofruit Middle East, WOP Dubai, Gulfood Dubai, Fresh Produce India and Worldfood Moscow in order to meet business parties and shipping line agents and also maintaining our friendship with our partners. In some of these events he was invited to deliver speech.
In 1997, we redefined our largest social responsibility and, relying on the good name of our ancestors, established the largest charitable health center for dialysis patients. This center has since been dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to individuals suffering from kidney disease, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment and assistance.
Shahab Emami has consistently played a significant and influential role in the global banana export market through precise and targeted analysis over the past years. By utilizing market data and examining trade trends, he has developed effective strategies to increase market share and improve export quality. Emami has also succeeded in introducing high-quality products to global markets by establishing extensive distribution networks and collaborating with top producers. His efforts in enhancing export processes and raising quality standards have had a remarkable impact on the growth and development of the banana industry on an international level.
